Writing a compelling cover letter is a chance to stand out from the crowd. The purpose is to demonstrate that your experience and passion are aligned with the job you’re seeking.

Yet, for too many job seekers, it’s a lost opportunity. They fall back on a trite, single-paragraph letter along the lines of, "I’m happy to submit my resume for your consideration." Is there another reason you would be sending your resume to a stranger?
