Washington State University’s vision of becoming top research center

Washington State University is laying the groundwork to bulk up research and graduate-study programs in a bold bid to attract money, build prestige and expand industry ties.
The university, which has doubled its annual research spending to $210 million over the last seven years, wants to invest more in its strongest research programs, including agriculture, veterinary medicine and plant sciences.
