U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission gives Idaho State University $264K for scholarships
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission has awarded $264,150 to Idaho State University’s College of Science and Engineering and its College of Technology for student scholarships during the 2010-11 academic year.
ISU’s Nuclear Education Scholarship Program will receive $172,150 for eight undergraduate scholarships in the areas of nuclear engineering and health physics. That includes $159,120 for typical expenses like tuition, fees, health insurance and stipends and $13,030 for educational opportunities outside the university environment.
Students must be U.S. citizens, have a minimum GPA of 3.0 (overall and in major) and maintain full-time student status and matriculation in the ISU Nuclear Engineering baccalaureate program. Applicants must provide a personal statement of career interests and goals, recommendation letters and lists of extracurricular activities. Financial need and extraordinary circumstances are considered.
