Wi-Fi coming to AC Transit on select routes to woo riders

Free wireless Internet service is coming to AC Transit in the hopes of boosting ridership on the bus service.

"Folks will be able to surf to work and back," said Aram Boyd, AC Transit’s senior marketing representative.

The agency plans to provide Wi-Fi access on routes across the Bay that link the East Bay to San Francisco and the Peninsula. Testing is scheduled to begin this week, and service could begin this fall.
