PerkinElmer will buy Spokane genetic test company, Signature Genomic Laboratories

Massachusetts-based PerkinElmer Inc. http://www.perkinelmer.com , a maker of health test equipment and services, announced Wednesday it will buy Spokane’s Signature Genomic Laboratories http://www.signaturegenomics.com/.

The acquisition is expected to be completed in May, a press release said.

Signature Genomic, founded in 2003 and one of the fastest-growing companies in Spokane, develops test systems that can identify chromosomal abnormalities. It was founded by Lisa Shaffer and Dr. Bassem Bejjani.
