MSUB professor gets $332K grant for disease research
Lynn George, an assistant professor at Montana State University Billings, has been awarded a $332,000 research grant to further her work studying a neurodevelopmental and neurodegenerative disease.
"I’m really thrilled," she said. "It’s an honor that the (National Institutes of Health) is investing in me. I can breathe a sigh of relief knowing that I have three years of funding for my job."
The NIH awarded George with the three-year R15 Academic Research Enhancement Award earlier this month to aid in her decadelong research of familial dysautonomia, more commonly known as Riley-Day syndrome, and the development of the peripheral nervous system, according to an MSUB news release.
