Missoula high school robotics team readies for regional competition
February 22, 2012 /
If Mr. T could feel pity, he’d pity the fool who tries to make more baskets than him.
But Mr. T does not feel pity. He is a pitiless robot brought to life through machinery, electricity, hydraulics, rubber, metal and a laptop computer – all of it cobbled together, designed and built by the student-led Missoula Robotics Team (acronym: MRT, or "Mr. T") over the last six weeks.
In April, Mr. T will hit the "court" in 3-on-3 matches against other robots across the West at the regional U.S. FIRST Robotics high-school competition in Cheney, Wash.
