Housing need rising in Cut Bank, Shelby, Montana
There’s a big need for new housing and rental units in counties north and west of Great Falls, in part because the towns of Shelby and Cut Bank are booming, said Sarah Converse, executive director of the Sweetgrass Development http://www.sweetgrassdevelopment.org/ , a regional economic development organization.
"Shelby has a huge need for additional housing and rental units because of growth at the privately run prison, increased U.S. Border Patrol facilities and near-by oil and gas development," Converse said. "And Glacier County has experienced even more of an oil boom, initially on the Blackfoot Indian Reservation but spreading toward Cut Bank."
