Helena faces multimillion-dollar bill for ADA retrofits

Helena faces a multimillion-dollar tab to bring dozens of city parks and buildings into compliance with the federal Americans with Disabilities Act.
That’s according to John McGovern, a city-hired consultant who on Wednesday laid out a roughly $4.7 million bill to address thousands of compliance issues identified by himself and city officials over the past year. He said that total doesn’t include labor or design costs.
