Guest column: Common-sense conservation good for Montana business, too

Business innovation and conservation priorities go hand in hand. They are not mutually exclusive or competing pieces of Montana’s economy. Citizens and business leaders in Montana should not be asked to choose between landscape and innovation. Identifying public lands as an asset to our economy is key to supporting good policies that connect our outdoor spaces to great business opportunities in Montana.
Businesses across many industrial sectors have recognized this for years, and a growing body of research supports what a large variety of Montana businesses have always believed: Public lands are a valuable asset in building great businesses. The premise that a balanced, healthy economy is an either/or choice is the faulty logic that jeopardizes the multi-faceted model of business in Montana.
