Gov. Otter outlines $60 billion goal for Idaho
August 29, 2008 /
His plan for boosting the state’s economy by 18% would take more than one term, an economist says.
Gov. Butch Otter said Thursday that he wants to expand the Idaho economy about 18 percent to $60 billion before he leaves office, but did not say if that would be after one or two terms.
During a speech at a Boise Metro Chamber of Commerce luncheon, Otter said "Project 60" includes economic development plans he has been preaching for years and new elements designed to find opportunities in an economic downturn.
