Foundations empower Montana communities to solve problems
This is a difficult time for many in Montana and the rest of the nation. Unemployment remains high, paychecks don’t go very far, and every day it seems another public service is being curtailed in the interest of budget cuts. That’s why the kinds of innovative investments being made by philanthropy, particularly by community foundations, have never been more important.
There are more than 700 community foundations nationwide. These foundations provide an avenue for everyone in a community to pool their philanthropy together to enhance the quality of life of everyone in their area — whether it be a small town, city or an entire state. Across the nation, these foundations support essential services like health care clinics, food banks, domestic violence shelters, and volunteer fire departments.
