Butte Local Development Corp. director,Jim Smitham reports it helped retain, create 151 jobs

The Butte Local Development Corp. helped retain or create 151 jobs within the county in the last fiscal year, according to the group’s executive director.

The BLDC, which offers loans to local businesses, reported working on 27 projects and loaning $1,370,700 from July 1, 2012, to June 30, 2013, Jim Smitham told the Butte-Silver Bow Council of Commissioners at its Wednesday meeting.

One big partnership was between the BLDC and Montana Aerospace Development Association to resume testing at the Butte AeroTec test site.
