Bitterroot rail line no longer in service

Montana Rail Link shut down its Bitterroot rail line on June 2 after floods washed out a section of track between Florence and Stevensville.

Now, the company’s decision to not reopen the line has left several businesses struggling to find alternative ways to haul important freight.

"It’s a big deal for us," said Mike Vitullo, Selway Corp.’s assistant operations manager.
