Bill introduced to increase Montana’s legal dropout age
December 8, 2014 /
Montana State Senator Robyn Driscoll http://leg.mt.gov/css/Sessions/63rd/leg_infO.asp?HouseID=2&SessionID=107&LAWSID=12924 , at the request of the Montana Office of Public Instruction, has introduced a bill (SB 14) that would increase Montana’s legal dropout age from 16 to 18. The bill, if passed, would change Montana’s compulsory attendance law to state that parents must keep their kids in school until they are 18, or if it’s earlier, graduate high school or an equivalent program like a GED.
