Environment at Work: Boise, Idaho Green building goes for platinum. Downtown’s Banner Bank Building up for certification based on innovative features

From its reflective roof to the hand dryers in the bathroom, almost everything about the bright white Banner Bank Building that opened recently in Downtown Boise is green.

Boise developer Gary Christensen built the 11-story building to reduce air emissions, conserve energy and cut back on water consumption.

He expects the building to receive the highest certification later this month from the U.S. Green Building Council, a national organization that promotes environmentally responsible construction.
