A Roundup couple has been ordered to pay almost $1.3 million in fines and restitution for defrauding investors in their companies, including selling fake bonds they claimed were backed by the federal government.
Gordon and Ann Walters, of Roundup, were fined $1.1 million and ordered to pay $280,654 in restitution to scammed investors. The fines were part of a final decision announced Thursday by the Montana state auditor.
