NewWest.Net http://www.NewWest.Net, a Montana-based online media start-up backed by a prestigious group of investors, seeks a Publisher/Executive Vice President to oversee all business-side operations. The publisher/EVP will be responsible for:
• Driving advertising sales across the company’s network of online sites;
• Developing syndication agreements and other business relationships that will help drive online traffic, newsletter subscriptions and revenue;
• Overseeing financial strategies and policies; marketing and selling ancillary products, including substantial businesses in conferences and custom publishing businesses;
• And generally playing a central role in product strategy and development.
The publisher/EVP will work very closely with the founder, CEO, and editor in chief on all aspects of the business and will be a true partner with the founder in taking the company to the next level. Candidates should have experience with online media, strong sales skills, an affinity for publishing in general and journalism in particular, and a willingness to work long hours in a startup environment. The publisher/EVP will supervise a staff of one full-time and three part-time employees at the start. Compensation will include salary, commissions and a substantial equity package.
