After outlining the state of the industry, moderator Atabak Mokari of Credit Suisse asked his three fellow panelists to elaborate on challenges they had faced.
They quickly pointed their fingers at a common nemesis: the University of Washington -- an institution they said did not sufficiently support interaction with industry.
"The University of Washington is very difficult to deal with," said Richard Shea, the CEO of Spiration Inc., who added, "We have great relationships with some departments but not the relationship we hoped."
