The region's biomedical device industry has become a powerhouse, particularly in Bothell, with thousands of jobs and billions in revenue, according to a study that details for the first time the industry's economic impact.
The data will be unveiled Thursday afternoon at a summit on the state of the biomedical device industry.
Between 2000 and 2006, the biomedical device industry added roughly 2,500 jobs in the Puget Sound region -- bringing the total number of workers to 5,800. Almost half of those jobs are clustered in Bothell -- home to 2,800 industry workers.
