Q: What I haven't seen among the blogs, and what I'm hoping you can shed some light on, is how early stage companies go about finding and attracting the right talent.
My personal story is that I was brought on about 5 years ago as employee #4 at a small software co. named Diamond IP. I knew hires 1-3 from previous work, and hires 5-8 were within our personal network. Since the 8 employee days, we've been bought (twice) and are now part of the BT (British Telecom) empire... so it's not quite the same small company vibe. I'm not a large company type of person and I'm ready to look elsewhere.
