Montana lags in preschool education

A record 1,000,000 children enrolled in state-funded preschools across the U.S. in 2007, but in Montana, 3 year old and 4 year old children still have no access to public preschool programs.

The finding comes from the National Institute for Early Education Research's annual survey http://nieer.org/ of preschools in all 50 states, which found that Montana is one of 12 states in the nation that does not provide funding for preschool programs.
