NVCA President Calls for More Federal Grants to Venture-Backed Firms

Mark Heesen, president of the National Venture Capital Association http://www.nvca.org/ , took the NVCA’s case for increased support from the Small Business Administration to Capitol Hill on Thursday.

Testifying before the House of Representatives Committee on Small Business, Heesen said the SBA discriminates against venture-backed companies. Over the past five years the SBA has “supported” a policy that has led to the exclusion of these companies from the Small Business Innovative Research program.
