The Community Manager / Web Editor will be responsible for developing and managing community relations to benefit the community level content (classified, user generated content, sports team fan pages, directories, wedding/engagement announcements and more) on our website http://www.flatheadbeacon.com. You will be responsible for generating, under supervision of our editorial and publishing team, community level content and developing a user generated content area for the web site.
You will act as the primary point of contact for community organizations, and users that contribute their own content. Required Skills/Traits: We require a person who should be able to multitask and prioritize activities in a dynamic high-speed environment, self-motivate and keep organized, and should possess great interpersonal skills. A self-starter with the willingness, and desire, to "roll up your sleeves" and get the job done. Preference for working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, start-up environment.
Prior web experience, particularly in generating content for the web, blogging or community-moderation experience, is preferred. Excellent writing skills. Strong ability to think creatively and implement projects from the idea phase to execution. Experience in working with Web Content Management Systems would be helpful. Strong sense of product ownership and pride in work.
