“Our commitment to STEM is a strategic and important investment, not only for the students but for the future of the state,” Gov. Ted Strickland said. “This is a great day for Ohio education."
The money will be used to create the Ohio STEM Learning Network, which will help the state launch five math- and science-focused schools — following the example set by Metro High School in Columbus — in different regions. These schools will be open to all students, especially low-income and minority youths.
