October 3, 2007

NASCIO http://www.nascio.org/publications/ announced Tuesday the release of its survey State IT Workforce: Here Today, Gone Tomorrow? A product of NASCIO's Corporate Leadership Council (CLC) Public Private Partnership Working Group, this national survey was designed to garner factual evidence about the current and future landscape of the state IT workforce from the view of the state CIO.

The survey covered topics such as anticipated state IT workforce retirements, employee recruitment and retention, and options for future state IT staffing and service structures. According to the survey results, an anticipated 27 percent of state IT workers will be eligible for retirement within the next five years, leaving states uncertain of their ability to replace them.
