Chief Financial Officer Missoula Electric Cooperative, Inc. http://www.meccoop.com, is conducting a search for a well qualified individual for the position of Chief Financial Officer.

This position will report to the General Manager and offers a great opportunity for professional growth for a highly motivated individual. The qualified candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in accounting or a related field and at least four years experience in public or corporate accounting. CPA or CMA preferred.

The position is responsible for the overall finances of the Cooperative. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: financial reporting; financial forecasting & planning; annual budgeting; loan applications; working with RUS and external auditors. The position is in charge of the accounting department. Directly reporting to the position is the Plant Accountant, Warehouse Materials Handler, and Accounting Clerks. Experience should include: accounting policies & procedures; budgeting; and financial forecasting. Prior experience at an electric cooperative would be preferred. For such applicants, RUS loan fund accounting procedures and RUS work order system experience is desirable.

The successful applicant must be self-motivated, dependable, have a high degree of integrity, and possess strong leadership capabilities. The Cooperative is a RUS, CFC, and CoBank borrower; utilizes NISC accounting and customer service software and the Hunt Turtle system to read all Member meters. Missoula Electric Cooperative has approximately 13,600 meters and a total utility plant in excess of $65 million. The Co-op's headquarters is located in Missoula, Montana approximately 160 miles south of Glacier National Park.

Salary for this position is extremely competitive with other electric cooperatives on a regional and national basis and is commensurate upon qualifications and experience.
