Practice SAT and ACT tests. Scholarship information. College descriptions. It’s all available on Student Assistance Foundation’s (SAF)http://www.safmt.org new Web site, http://www.smartaboutcollege.org.
“Our new site provides Montana families with one-stop shopping for college information,” said Kelly Chapman, executive vice president of Foundation Activities for SAF. “On this site, students can search for scholarships and programs, parents can learn more about the various ways to save and pay for college, and educators can access resources to use with their students.”
According to Chapman, the motivation to develop the site flows directly from nonprofit SAF’s mission — to provide students and their families with the knowledge and tools to pursue their dreams of postsecondary education.
“At SAF, we believe that everyone should have an opportunity to attain higher education,” she said. “Smart About College provides information regarding almost every facet of preparing for college in an interesting, user-friendly format.”
Chapman said the site offers an excellent blend of the most popular aspects from SAF’s current home page, www.safmt.org, with an expanded base of information for a wider audience.
As such, visitors hoping to take advantage of the services provided through the Montana Career Information System (MCIS) will still be able to do so through Smart About College.
But now they’ll also be able to better gather information about how SAF outreach efforts can assist them, and even how they can help SAF help students by getting involved in community fundraising efforts.
The site went live on Tuesday.
