“How To Build A Corporate Web Presence: Strategic Insights And Tactical Tools;” Mario Schulzke, 9/27, U Of M

September 6, 2007

Mario Schulzke, one of our former M&M graduates, will be speaking to my class on Thursday, September 27, from 11:10-12:30 in GBB123. (Mario will be in town for our Business Advisory Board meetings.)

The title of his talk is, “How to Build a Corporate Web Presence: Strategic Insights and Tactical Tools;” he will focus on the importance of not just “putting up a website,” but, rather, pro-actively managing a company’s web presence.

One case study he will present will be a grassroots campaign Respond2 http://respond2.com/ did for Vonage that has been featured in the Wall Street Journal, Wired Magazine and on the front page of Digg.com, among others. The presentation will focus on new media tactics such as online PR, search engine optimization, guerilla marketing and other forms of compelling content to help build a corporate web presence.

Mario Schulzke received his B.A. in marketing from the University of Montana, School of Business Administration in 2002. Upon graduation, he worked with WONGDOODY, a creative advertising agency with offices in Seattle and Los Angeles, serving as the New Business Manager. In that position, Mario helped to secure clients such as Dairy Queen, T-Mobile Hotspots and Autodesk, among others. Last year Mario moved to Respond2 in Portland, as Director of New Media to develop and manage new media opportunities for clients in all the company’s divisions. After initial client successes, Mario was tasked to grow and manage the company’s new media unit, which since has grown from two to twelve people. Clients include Vonage, Philips, Nautilus, Invisalign, Bosley, Bill Cosby and about a dozen others.

Room 123 is sufficiently large to hold a good crowd, but if you could RSVP to me so I know who’s coming, that would be nice.

Thanks, all, for helping to publicize his talk.
