U.S. Optics To Open Doors To The Public For An Open House - 11/17 - Kalispell, Montana
3:00 PM
U.S. Optics 235 United Drive Kalispell, MT 59901

On November 17, from 3 pm to 6 pm, Kalispell's newest manufacturer, U.S. Optics will be rolling out the welcome mat to the community with an Open House featuring hot beverages and a guided tour of their facility. The tour will showcase the production process of the custom rifle scopes they have been manufacturing and assembling to exacting specifications for over 26 years. In this span of time the functionality, durability and clarity of their optics has evolved through research and development efforts, invaluable end user feedback, design innovation and proven engineering practices - building the best optics available for the practiced shooter.

U.S. Optics, a custom firearm manufacturing company that originated in Southern California, decided to relocate and enlisted help from the Montana Governor's Office of Economic Development (GOED) in finding a new location.

Texas and Montana had made the short list of possibilities for relocation. After GOED contacted Jerry Meerkatz, CEO of Montana West Economic Development, Jerry began working with consultant Dev Warren, the CEO of Ascendant Advisory Group, on obtaining location options to be considered for the U.S. Optics move. After initial discussions and sites reviewed, the choice to move to Montana was made.

MWED has been working with U.S. Optics to secure additional funding through grant applications to the Big Sky Economic Development Trust Fund to build the workforce at their new facility in south Kalispell. On September 5, 2017, U.S. Optics began its operations in the Flathead Valley and currently employs about 20 people, with plans to bulk up employee numbers over the next 12 months.

By opening its doors to the public, U.S. Optics hopes to show that they are vested in the community by bringing quality jobs to the Flathead Valley for a better quality of life in the area they now call home.

Already, the 8 staff members that transferred from Southern California are experiencing a boost to their own lifestyles by being surrounded by Montana's natural beauty, easy access to outdoor recreation, employment at a company committed to their job satisfaction and the friendly attitudes that can only be found in the people of Montana.
