EFRinstitute announces a training opportunity

Learning Outcomes

Successful participants in this Practicum will develop the skills and knowledge necessary to competently serve in the field on an EFR research team. Participants will be able to:

• Conduct an EFR Interview

• Summarize the content of an EFR Interview

• Develop a composite from multiple summaries

Learning Activities

During the 3-day training, participants will be presented brief mini-lectures, followed by a variety of experience-based learning activities, including taking the roles of the interviewee, the summarizer, and the interviewer — all deepened and reinforced by hands-on analytic and compositing exercises.

EFRsource is the leading practitioner of a rigorous Futures Research method derived from Cultural Anthropology, known as Ethnographic Futures Research (EFR). The EFRinstitute is a training and certifi cation program for qualifi ed candidates to learn the EFR method and become certifi ed Ethnographic Futures Researchers. All candidates seeking certifi cation are themselves required to experience an EFR interview as an interviewee, which occurs during this EFR Fieldworker Training Practicum (Level 1). Successful graduates of Level 1 are eligible to apply for an EFR Project Manager Internship (Level 2) that prepares and certifi es individuals to competently design and implement a full EFR project.
