2008 New Frontiers Conference: Propelling Montana Research, 6/2, Bozeman, Montana 8:30 AM Best Western Grantree Inn You are cordially invited to attend the 2008 New Frontiers Conference: Propelling Montana Research June 2 in Bozeman, MT. Join me as I welcome university researchers, entrepreneurs, investors and national corporations in this one day showcase of Montana Research. American universities are powerful engines of scientific discovery and economic development. Maintaining a commitment to scientific inquiry must be part of our vision for creating better paying jobs in Montana. Research is fundamental to competitiveness and we hope to identify better ways to fund and market Montana based research. New technologies make businesses more competitive and competitive companies grow and create good paying job opportunities. I recognize the contributions that basic research and development has made to Montana's economy and this conference will showcase the globally competitive work being done throughout Montana and promote the continued discoveries of new technology. The Economic Development Summit in Butte last year generated a lot of good ideas. This event is one step towards producing tangible results from those ideas. I will be inviting national companies, federal agency representatives and investors to showcase Montana opportunities. Through a series of presentations, workshops and networking opportunities, it is my hope that leaders in each research sector will work together to find ways to promote Montana research and technological developments beyond our state borders. The agenda will include presentations, round table discussions, focused breakout sessions and keynote speeches. There is no charge to register or attend. For more information or questions please contact Jamie Jutila at (406)-586-6104. I look forward to seeing you on June 2 in Bozeman! Sen. Max Baucus
