VLS & BAE Systems to Release Feature Analyst for SOCET SET

MISSOULA, Montana – Visual Learning Systems (VLS) & BAE Systems are pleased
to introduce a new feature extraction capability tool, Feature Analyst® for
SOCET SET®. The two companies will integrate VLS’s Feature Analyst as an
extension to SOCET SET, a world-class digital photogrammetry application.
Feature Analyst provides a pathway for automated feature extraction and is a
leader in image understanding technology. Feature Analyst for SOCET SET
will also provide users with advanced 3-D feature extraction capability.
The enhanced version of SOCET SET will be available later this year.

“Feature Analyst is recognized worldwide as a cutting-edge technology for
lowering the labor costs of geospatial data production processes,” said Dan
London, vice president of sales and marketing for BAE Systems Geospatial
eXploitation Products™ (GXP). “We feel our customer base will benefit
tremendously with the addition of Feature Analyst’s capabilities for SOCET
SET.”

According to David Opitz, VLS chief executive officer, the new integrated
product will provide customers with faster and cleaner extractions, while
lowering the over-all cost of image interpretation. “SOCET SET’s rigorous
approach to digital photogrammetry is a perfect match for Feature Analyst’s
advanced feature extraction toolsets. We’re pleased to be working with BAE
Systems, setting a new benchmark for state-of-the-art geospatial feature
extraction software systems.”

In March, VLS and BAE Systems will showcase Feature Analyst for SOCET SET at
the 2004 SOCET SET User Conference in San Diego. For more information
