Missoula trucking company sold

A subsidiary of a German company has bought a bankrupt Missoula trucking company.

Billings Gazette

The buyer, Canadian-based RSB Logistic, acquired Bitterroot International Systems in a sale approved by the bankruptcy court.

RSB acquired the trucking company’s customer base, assets and liabilities, independent operator fleet, one tractor-trailer and leases on a few trailers.

In the 1990s, Bitterroot International was considered one of the area’s 20 largest employers following its purchase of Yellowstone Trucking.

But spiraling fuel and insurance costs led to insolvency.

Kurt Rehder, RSB’s Missoula branch manager, said there’s opportunity for the Missoula business to grow again.
