Wyoming Business Council hires business recruitment manager

The Wyoming Business Council has hired Wendy Lopez as its new business recruitment manager.

Wendy is a fifth-generation Wyomingite originally from Cody, where her family has lived since 1885. She attended the University of Wyoming and earned a bachelor’s degree in communication in 1997. She spent almost 22 years at the Wyoming Tribune Eagle as an advertising sales consultant and as the director of advertising. She comes to us with a background in multimedia advertising, sales, marketing, event planning, graphic design and promotions, as well as years of experience in cultivating deep, lasting relationships with clients.

As the Wyoming Business Council’s business recruitment manager, Wendy hopes to use her sales background to find new ways to recruit businesses to the state. She is already working to start a Business Ambassador partnership with the University of Wyoming Alumni Association and/or Foundation to tap into the vast network of UW alumni.

Wendy and her husband, Adam, look forward to traveling the state this spring to watch their son play in his final year of high school soccer, and hope to continue watching him play in college.

Wendy’s first day at the Business Council was Nov. 13.
