Smaller businesses could make big impact on Sheridan,Wyoming’s future

The state of Wyoming and Sheridan Economic and Educational Development Authority contributed millions of dollars to recruit large businesses like Weatherby and Vacutech into the Sheridan community in recent years. While community leaders and business professionals have mostly applauded the entrance of strong manufacturers, others find paying attention to smaller business players integral to the community’s long-term success.

A little more than a year ago, David Haile purchased Yellowstone Track Systems from its previous owners, excited to finally become his own boss. Yellowstone Track manufactures grooming equipment for Nordic ski trails in 21 countries touching every continent except Antarctica and Africa.

The company is now based out of Sheridan and delivers equipment to Lander, Jackson, Casper and Laramie in-state.
