MMEC News and Events for Montana Manufacturers November 2018

We would like to say thank you to each of the manufacturers that opened their doors to the public on October 5. We hope you received feedback from the community and we know your community discovered something new about Montana manufacturing. They may have learned that manufacturers employ at least 25,000 Montanans, are continually finding new and creative ways to be environmentally conscious, and are part of Montana’s fastest-growing job sector. West Paw welcomed between 65 and 70 participants into their facility on Manufacturing Day. From this mix of eighth graders, parents, community members and a small group of special needs students, there were many comments on how "high-tech" their manufacturing process is. Participants were excited to see and experience one of the cleanest and safest manufacturing facilities in the state of Montana. West Paw training manager, Nikki Dixon-Foley, stated that "just building communication and community around workforce development and raising awareness around manufacturing" was one of her favorite parts of celebrating manufacturing day.
