From poop to power: Missoula’s waste now becomes electricity generator

Tucked inside a large green metal box-like structure, which is dwarfed by the rest of Missoula’s wastewater treatment plant, is the newest effort by the city to reduce its carbon footprint.
On Wednesday, Gene Connell took a handful of city council members and other interested people through a labyrinth tour of the treatment plant, past bright blue, brown and yellow pipelines of all sizes with black labels on them like "scum" and "primary treatment."
