It’s not just you: Internet outage sends Great Falls area back to the Stone Age
October 5, 2018 /
An internet outage that began just after 7 p.m. Thursday evening is still affecting Spectrum internet customers in the Great Falls area Friday afternoon.
Services are also impacted in the Havre, Malta, Chinook and Harlem areas.
According to Bret Picciolo, Spectrum’s senior director of communications for the northwest region, damage to a third-party carrier’s fiber-optic network is to blame for the disrupted service.
The damage occurred last night, but the site is controlled by the power company and crews were unable to access the damage until this morning when the power company deemed the area safe to enter.
