After weeks of debate, the Casper City Council has decided to allocate approximately $3 million in potential 1-cent sales tax revenue to local nonprofits.
Given that the 41 applicants requested a total of $14 million, Mayor Ray Pacheco said at Tuesday’s work session that many groups will likely be disappointed.
"We are doing the best we can," he said, explaining that the city has to be frugal due to the economic downturn.
