Flathead County Economic Development Authority (FCEDA) and Montana West Economic Development (MWED) Win the MEDA 2018 Innovation Award for Kalispell Core & Rail Redevelopment Project!

On Thursday, September 20th, Montana West Economic Development (MWED) and Flathead County Economic Development Authority (FCEDA) were presented the 2018 Innovation Award at the Montana Economic Development Association’s (MEDA) Fall Unconference in Missoula, in celebration of the Kalispell Core and Rail Redevelopment Project http://www.kalispellcoreandrail.com/ .

This annual award recognizes an innovative project significantly impacting a Montana community and its citizens. The award is intended to recognize participants involved in a Montana innovative economic development project and to highlight best practices, demonstrating excellence in economic development, partnership, resilience, and innovation. The following partners were recognized for their participation in the project with FCEDA and MWED:

Montana Department of Commerce

US Dept. of Commerce/EDA

Dept. of Transportation/Federal Rail Administration

Environmental Protection Agency

Watco Companies/Mission Mountain Rail

CORE & RAIL REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT

This project creates opportunities for investment in a vibrant cultural center and a business park for rail-served businesses, which together will serve to attract workforce, commerce and industry to the Flathead Valley.​ ​
