With a $48,000 grant from NorthWestern Energy, two more Bozeman schools getting solar panels thanks to student advocate Claire Vlases
September 20, 2018 /
More Bozeman schools are going solar, and the girl who got the ball rolling at her middle school has just been named a "young hero."
The Bozeman School District opened bids last for installing 50-kilowatt, rooftop solar systems at Hyalite and Meadowlark elementary schools and the bids were favorable, Todd Swinehart, facilities director, said Wednesday.
Claire Vlases, 15, was a Sacajawea eighth-grader when she started the fundraising campaign to install solar panels as her school underwent a major renovation and expansion.
