Bozeman sets stage for another sales tax push

With roughly five months before lawmakers meet in Helena, Bozeman leaders are once again building arguments to sway legislators to let Montana cities create a sales tax to collect money from out-of-state visitors.
This week, city commissioners approved a lobbyist to help shepherd bills and ideas Bozeman officials want to survive the 2019 legislative session. It’s the second year leaders opted to pay someone outside City Hall to represent Bozeman at the capitol.
