A Great Legacy for Montana Ambassador Arne Siegel and His Wife Steffi – West Yellowstone Celebrates the grand opening of the Siegel Learning Center

(This is a wonderful legacy for a great Montana Ambassador http://montanaambassadors.com/ – Arnie Siegel)

Folks in West Yellowstone gathered Thursday to celebrate the grand opening of the Siegel Learning Center. This beautiful, state-of-the-art building now houses the Little Rangers Learning Center — an early education program that teaches and supports little ones before they get to kindergarten.

Little Rangers Learning Center, Seigel Learning Center, West Yellowtone, Foundation, Town Council, Montana, Bullock, Early Childhood, Pre-K, Daycare, EducationNew businesses and community organizations pop up all the time in our state, but there was something different about this ribbon-cutting ceremony.

You could see it in the eyes of the people in the crowd, and hear it in the voices of the folks that spoke.

This achievement, and the journey it took to get here, is one for the books.

"I first got to know Arne and Steffi Seigel in the 1990s, when the late Arne called the Montana Community Foundation, asking to speak to "Mr. Armstrong." An engineer who lived in Los Angeles, but who first started coming to West Yellowstone when he was four, later building a family home there, wanted to launch a community foundation. This was a place with few philanthropic resources and the Council on Foundations had advised him to call the new statewide foundation to work with him. He and Steffi were already helping fund projects and scholarship and then established the West Yellowstone Community Foundation as part of the statewide foundation and began to contribute money, time and talent to help it grow. Arne served on a regional committee and then as a very active board member for the Montana Community Foundation and was succeeded by Steffi. It was a further joy to work with Arne when he led the Safety Automotive Engineers (SAE) Foundation in engaging Montana schools in a tremendous program, "A World in Motion." It was my joy and honor to count Arne and continuing with Steffi as valued friends and treasured colleagues. This story is another example of the many of all they have done for their community and our state!"
