App competition encourages Montana kids to solve community issues

Kids who code came to the Capitol Saturday morning to present judges with the apps they built to solve problems in their community.
Saturday marked the second Montana App Challenge and brought 15 teams of mostly female students from Whitefish, Helena, Butte, Missoula, Frenchtown and Kalispell to compete. The teams presented their apps to judges, were given awards and feedback and heard from leaders in the tech industry.
