Gianforte Named Chairman of Subcommittee on Interior, Energy, and Environment

Montana Congressman Greg Gianforte yesterday was named chairman of the Interior, Energy, and Environment (IEE) Subcommittee of the House Oversight and Government Reform (OGR) Committee.

"I am honored to serve as chairman of the Interior, Energy, and Environment Subcommittee. I appreciate the confidence of Chairman Gowdy, and look forward to working with him as we increase transparency, improve accountability, and reduce waste, fraud, and abuse in the federal government," Gianforte said.

OGR Committee Chairman Trey Gowdy, R-S.C., made the announcement and welcomed Gianforte.

Daines, Gianforte: Public Lands Poll Is ‘Flawed’ And ‘Inaccurate’

A survey about Montanans’ opinions about public lands released by the University of Montana Monday is receiving criticism from the Republican members of the state’s congressional delegation.

Senator Steve Daines and Representative Greg Gianforte are casting doubt on the poll’s legitimacy as they work to advance legislative proposals in Congress to reduce designated Wilderness Study Areas (WSAs) in the state, which they say will increase public land use.
