Frontier Angels Back 4 More Emerging Technology Companies

Frontier Angels, Montana’s early-stage technology investor group, announced the latest in their continuing series of investments in emerging technology businesses including companies in data security, sensor-driven analytics, genetic cancer testing, and ag-tech.

"We continue to find quality companies with great leadership who we can support and help them accelerate to great commercial success" said Pat LaPointe, Managing Director of Frontier Angels. "We are part of an active regional syndication network of about a dozen angel groups putting millions of dollars into these types of new technologies each and every month with the expectation that they will create high-skilled, high-paying jobs and help improve people’s lives, as well as provide a strong return on investment."

The four companies most recently "funded" include:

OverWatchID (http://www.Overwatchid.com) – a Denver-based company with an entirely new approach to saas-based, multi-tenant data security software that can be installed and administered across distributed company locations in a fraction of the time and cost of the current market leaders.

Toma Bioscience (http://www.tomabio.com) – a San Francisco company with a new genetic testing approach to help identify the most ideal forms of treatment for cancer tumors using patented techniques and processes to lower the cost of testing and make it accessible in every small-to-midsized lab in hospitals and clinics around the world.

StormSensor (http://www.stormsensor.io) – a Seattle-based company using advanced sensor and cloud-computing technologies to help municipalities and counties better understand where and how storm water runoff is polluting rivers, lakes, and tidal zones, leading to more precisely prescribed mitigation strategies to reduce costs and avoid expensive litigation or regulation.

BetaHatch (http://www.betahatch.com) – a Seattle-based company with innovations in genetics and rearing of meal worms as an alternate source of feed for fish and poultry farmers, providing high-quality protein at competitive cost but with a far more reliable supply chain.

"On the local front, we are meeting with dozens of Montana-based technology companies and providing advice and support to help them accelerate their growth path. From Billings to Bozeman to Missoula and Whitefish, we have members in all corners of Montana who are out in their communities looking for new investment opportunities everyday" said LaPointe. "Soon we’ll be announcing some new programs to help local tech sector entrepreneurs with even more mentorship, funding, and access to the best available resources nationwide."

Frontier Angels meet every 6 weeks to showcase new and different technology companies including those in sectors like software, cloud computing, biotech, IoT, mobility, and ag-tech. Events are held regularly in Billings, Bozeman, Kalispell, and Missoula. For more information on Frontier Angels, visit http://www.FrontierAngels.com.
