Missoula-based Shipping and Logistics Company - Big Sky Fulfillment: Big Opportunity.

December 22, 2017View for printing

Blue ribbon trout streams, snow-capped Rocky Mountains and ... fulfillment? You heard right. Patrick Claytor, CEO of Big Sky Fulfillment in Missoula, Montana is helping Montanans grow their businesses by offering receiving, packaging and shipping services to companies large and small.

Claytor knows first hand the pain points of a growing retail company. In 2015, he was packing boxes for his growing subscription box company in the basement of his home. "My wife and I were rapidly running out of living space. It was around that time I started thinking: this is a problem I can solve."

Now housed in a 6,000-square-foot warehouse on Expressway, Big Sky Fulfillment ships roughly 10,000 packages a month on behalf of several companies, including Nooky Box, and helps with national flash sales for Vim&VIGR and Chilton Skis, all based in Missoula.

Fulfillment becomes an important linchpin of any successful growing business. There's a breaking point where the founding team comes to the conclusion that they can no longer do everything themselves. Perhaps it's the moment growth plateaus because more time is spent packing and shipping than growing and making customers happy.

"When we get a call from a growing business, it's really exciting for both parties. We have solutions they're looking for, and they start to see the light at the end of the fulfillment tunnel. Win-win is kind of cliche to say, but with fulfillment services it really happens."

Big Sky Fulfillment manages a 6,000 square-foot warehouse on Expressway and ships roughly 10,000 packages per month (and growing) on behalf of several companies across the country. For more information, contact big Sky Fulfillment:
