Casper leaders decide to sell city-owned buildings to local entrepreneurs
December 20, 2017 /
Downtown Casper should soon have more apartments and an expanded apparel store after city leaders approved the bids at the end of a contentious, three-hour meeting Tuesday night.
The Casper City Council was split, with five members voting to sell two city-owned buildings and three voting to wait. Shortly after local entrepreneurs submitted their ideas for apartments, an apparel store and a cupcake shop, a coalition of groups requested the council explore using the land for a possible $70 million conference center.
