Montana Department of Commerce Announces Grants to Support Main Street Businesses

The MDT Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Program encourages and supports the participation of companies owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals in transportation contracts.

Montana Department of Commerce Director Pam Haxby-Cote today announced $726,584 in economic development grants to assist Main Street businesses across Montana with creating 93 jobs, providing workforce training and developing plans for growth and expansion.

"Montana’s entrepreneurs and small businesses are the core of our strong economy," said Director Haxby-Cote. "Supporting their growth through proven economic development programs will continue to drive Montana’s economy and create opportunities for our workforce across the state."

The funds are being awarded through the Big Sky Economic Development Trust Fund (BSTF) and the Primary Sector Workforce Training Grant (WTG) programs at the Department of Commerce, Office of Tourism and Business Development.
